Why Ge'ez?

The Ge'ez numeral system is alphanumeric, derived from the Greek alphabetic numerals. Each symbol corresponds to a numeric value, and unlike Arabic numerals, it is not a positional system. Learning these is the first step to reading authentic Ethiopian manuscripts.
